In X-DAM, The asset viewer is where all the action happens! upload, download, modify and manage your assets. The asset viewer in a DAM can be a bit intimidating to some, that’s why it’s import to have a Role-based permission system. This allows us to remove items that are not needed in view of the user.

XDAM’s asset viewer default client admin view shows all the tools available in the system. The user is also able to hide elements like the left and right side panels or create user roles that do not need to see every element. If there’s not a use case for a photographer to see or use metadata or sharing, why have that permission enabled?
